My Shed Setup Now That It’s Finished (Tools, Shelves, Storage)
Once the shed was finished, I realized the real project was just beginning.
It wasn’t just about having four walls and a roof — it was about what I could turn it into.
Here’s how I turned my simple backyard shed into a usable, clean workspace (without overcomplicating it).
🧱 Floorplan Setup (Simple But Functional)
Workbench along the back wall
Wall-mounted shelves on the right
Storage cabinet + tool hooks on the left
LED shop light overhead
I used the original 10x10 footprint, but added just enough organization to make it feel like a mini-shop.
🧰 Tools I Keep Inside
I keep all the daily-use tools inside:
Drill + charger
Circular saw
Clamps, levels, measuring tape
Paint/stain supplies
Extra fasteners (nails, screws, bolts)
They’re stored in a small wall-mounted rack and labeled plastic bins — all easy to grab.
🗄️ Shelves & Storage
Built using leftover plywood and a shelf plan from the same blueprint pack.
Top shelf: paints and solvents
Middle: hand tools and supplies
Bottom: clamps, jigs, and seasonal stuff
Each shelf is labeled. No more digging.
🌿 What I Use It For Now
Weekend projects
Small woodworking builds
Paint/stain setups
Tool sharpening
Garden storage in the off-season
It’s no longer “just a shed” — it’s my space.
Here’s how I added custom touches that made it mine → simple shed upgrades
📦 Why I Might Build Another One
Now that this one is organized, I want:
A second shed for garden storage
A smaller one just for kids' bikes or tools
Or even a lean-to firewood shed (also included in the pack)
These are the exact projects I’ve been planning → future shed builds
And the good part?
👉 I already have the plans for all of them
Here’s everything that’s actually included in the full pack → blueprint breakdown
FAQs

A: Yes — I used one of the basic shelf diagrams and changed the size.
Q: What’s the next upgrade you’ll add?
A: Probably insulation + power. That’ll make it year-round usabl
